Loyalty to the Hand That Feeds Them - written by LH
Although to be very honest, I don't see PKR as a good government substitute, especially, if Anwar becomes PM. He's proven in the past that some of our problems were caused by him, e.g. the education system and the Sabah ID issues. Personally, I think he is made to pay for it all now with his sodomy case (which should be a personal issue and left at that). However the crooks of M, D, N etc fear exposure. Although, I don't know what there is to hide, all of Malaysia and half the world are aware of these crooks and their crimes.
I am not a racist and know that I risk of being blasted with the 'racist' title by saying this.
Our bloated civil service is mainly to achieve part of the NEP's objective i.e. bringing up the living standards of the ordinary Malays (i.e. children of fishermen, farmers, felda settlers etc). How? by giving them employment and fixing in their minds, they owe it to the BN Government. So we start them off in the civil service, then their children are given scholarships by MARA and the many Petronas funded and set up institutions to earn degrees so we have a professional layer - who perhaps now (some of them anyway), believe they can do better if they were not spoonfed and the Government has to ban student activists. But, on the other hand, the other half of the NEP: that is on how to increase the wealth of the Malays - ah, that is reserved for the cream of the Malays (i.e. the *M** leaders, families and cronies).
To quote examples of the inefficiency of the civil service: When the Income Tax Dept wanted tax payers to go online to submit their forms, they couldn't get their website right the first time round . Come to the department and our staff will help you - so we went, we approached the sweet smiling girl in tudung behind the computer - and she said fill in this and that but in the end, she had to call a Chinese senior (one of the rare members in the HDN, contrary to the early 60's when the majority of staff in that department were China men) to help us out.
That was the first time, but we still encountered problems after going home to prepare the full form and returned to the department to submit the form. This time the Chinese lady was not available and we were attended by a young Malay man - he was nervous and couldn't explain well in English, so an Indian lady came to help us, speaking good English (compared to the quality and standard of her colleagues). So we have a lot of new recruits, mainly Malays, sitting around, looking good but not efficient. Never mind that, Malaysia provides employment and in so doing, raises itself to developed status, or so the BN government hopes.
Often, going through Immigration, my fingerprints do not show up well on the electronic passport machine, which fails to pick up the poor prints and the Immigration Officer minding it does not know what to do - other than to ask me to go through the common method of showing my passport. This has made me wary each time i have to go through the electronic gates. Digressing here, the electronic machines imported in is not in tip top condition and often is out of order, even in the LCCT. Why do we continuously spend money buying expensive and faulty machines?
This recent trip, I spied a young Chinese man, sitting next to the gate and I thought, mmm... the Immigration have taken in a China man! and guess what? my finger print got picked up on first try! - I asked the young man, are you an Immigration officer? His reply, no, I'm the technician.
So, draw your own conclusion. This vicious circle of U*** throwing out more pay increases and pension to the civil service, which mainly comprise of Malays and thus binding them to be loyal to the Hand that feeds them is how they stay in power. Mind you, Malays are very loyal and Islam binds them together, rightly or otherwise. Why bother if the funds are taxpayers money, after all, most Muslims only pay Zakat and not tax, including *M** ministers, I assume!
As for the *M** ministers and those cronies especially from the D-M era, who benefited. Would their wealth be that much if not for U***'s hand. And it would seem that M has not stripped enough from his 22 years - he still wants to wrestle all the wealth from the ground as can be seen from international corporate news And now the latest on he he to get his hands on the Qatar pipes company via Kanchana - Sapura link up while having no qualms in accusing his successor of corruption and theft (petty, if you compare with what he has done in 22 years). Truly, now one can understand why others want as much as they can lay hands on too.
But the true sufferers of this tussle of easy wealth are all the Malaysians (Malays included).
The current blow up on the NFC - why make S and family the scapegoat? Why can't the Opposition expose the REAL RASCALS behind the scene?? There will be a ruckus from the guilty ones and other whatnot's but these are the people who have to be made to take the stand of honor and take the oath that they did not take a single sen of Government funds. If a small 'fry' like S can take so much, the mind flounders at the billions that was hand out during the D-M era.
Let us therefore not be influenced by what those guilty MPs claim or deny. Let us all vote them out. ABU. People of Malaysia wake up before the country is truly bankrupted by them!!!
Grrr,.. how can we fight them? They have their machinery and money to create all sorts of diversions.
The answer lies in the BALLOT BOX! VOTE WISELY.
Remember - ABU! (ANYTHING BUT UMNO)
